Knitter/Haight’s fixation on a Positivist “scientism/rationalism” blinds them to the supra-mundane experience that characterizes the religious traditions of Catholicism and Mahayana Buddhism, both of which maintain continuity with their past while forever expressing themselves in new thought-forms.
