In 1977, a North American monastic organization for interreligious dialogue was created under the title the North American Board for East-West Dialogue (NABEWD). With the formation of DIM·MID as a secretariat of the Benedictine Confederation, NABEWD became the North American Commission for Monastic Interreligious Dialogue: MID.

 NABEWD began publishing a newsletter as soon as it was formed, and continued Publishing three issues a year until 2002. All issues are in the Archives of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. They have now all been scanned and placed on the DIM·MID website to make them more easily available. Click here to access them.
