NEW MASTERS PROGRAM IN INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE
The Re.Te. Institute (Instituto Religioni e Theologia) of the Lugano Faculty of Theology in collaboration with USI (Università della Svizzera Italiana) announces a new English-language Master of Arts in Interreligious Dialogue – Science, Philosophy and Theology of Religions. The online degree program will begin on October 25, 2021.
The purpose of the Master’s degree is to deepen the knowledge of the world’s main religions, and above all to shape and stimulate the conduct of interreligious dialogue. To achieve this goal, the Religions and Theology Institute offers top-level instructors from around the world, as well as representatives from the world’s main religions.
The Master’s course lasts two years and is split into four six-month terms; the materials are hosted in the MOODLE platform of the Faculty of Theology and all the classes are recorded. Students will need to earn 120 credits to achieve their final qualification. Each term includes five online courses, and each course is composed of five lectures that are 15/30 minutes in length. In addition to the 90 credits earned by passing a written test at the end of each course, the remaining 30 credits are earned through a tailored advanced e-learning program, under the supervision of the Institute’s tutors, and by writing a final thesis. The advanced e-learning program consists in working out an e-portfolio, a sort of “logbook” about the student’s own intercultural and interreligious experience, and the discussion of some of its points.
The programme has a cost of 1100 CHF per semester, but the academic fee for the first semester will be 500 CHF

Enrolment in the program is still open and scholarships are still available. The scholarships could be of two different types: one covers just the first semester’s fees, while the other covers both the first and second semester’s fees.
