Ecumenical and Interfaith Organizations / Organisations œcuméniques et interconfessionnelles
Ajatananda Ashram
An interreligious monastic ashram on the Ganges, in Rishikesh (Himalayan foothills, North India). The ashram is inspired by the vision of Swami Abhishiktananda and his principal disciple, Swami Ajatananda (Marc Chaduc).
Parliament of the World's Religions The Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions was created to cultivate harmony among the world's religious and spiritual communities and foster their engagement with the world and its guiding institutions in order to achieve a just, peaceful and sustainable world. Illume Illume develops unique and innovative ecumenical and interfaith programs bringing together people of different religious traditions to deepen their knowledge of each others’ beliefs and practices through travel to places of great historical and religious significance. Interfaith Alliance The Interfaith Alliance is equally committed to protecting the integrity of both religion and democracy in America. We champion religious freedom by respecting individual rights, promoting policies that protect both religion and democracy and uniting diverse voices to challenge extremism and build common ground. Interfaith Marketplace Interfaith Marketplace offers books, calendars, music, gifts, posters on understanding world religions and spiritual traditions and on new ways of creating a sense of community and cooperation among religions. Interfaith Marketplace engages in research and development of new interfaith resources for grassroots organizations. The Interreligious Coordinating Council in Israel ICCI works with young people, women, and religious leaders to promote Jewish-Arab coexistence and peacebuilding projects. North American Interfaith Network The North American Interfaith Network is a non-profit association of interfaith organizations and agencies in Canada, Mexico and the United States. Religions for Peace Religions for Peace is committed to leading effective multi-religious responses to the world’s pressing issues. We believe ambitious goals and complex problems can best be tackled when different faith communities work together. Scriptural Reasoning Scriptural Reasoning is the communal practice of reading sacred scriptures, in small groups, together. Normally the passages of scripture chosen are Jewish, Christian and Muslim and are linked together by a particular issue, theme, story or image. This website is intended as a resource to help all those from the growing Scriptural Reasoning community who wish to make this journey together. Tantur Ecumenical Institute The Tantur Ecumenical Institute serves as an "oasis" in the Holy Land for encountering sacred people, traditions, and places. We welcome groups and individuals from all walks of life including: clergy and members of religious orders who wish to spend time in the Holy Land; teachers, students, and conference attendees; university and church groups or organizations; individual guests and scholars seeking enrichment; and spiritual sojourners of all faiths. Temple of Understanding A global interfaith organization with NGO consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Promotes worldwide interfaith dialogue and education in order to achieve understanding, mutual respect, and coexistence among the people of the world's religious and spiritual communities. United Religious Initiative Promotes enduring, daily interfaith cooperation to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings. |
